to IANH members - Save Savita - HLA
Typing Drive
Shrewsbury,
MassachusettsSunday, Nov 04, 2007, 12 noon - 5:00 pm at
India Center, 152 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA
01544 Savita a young mother is suffering
from Leukemia. She has been undergoing chemotherapy
for the past few months and her cancer is currently
under remission. However, she URGENTLY needs a
bone marrow transplant to save her life. Since none of
her siblings turned out to be a match for her the
bone marrow drive is being organised at India Society
Worcester to get a match from an unrelated
donor.
The test is very simple and involves taking a
cheek swab with a Q-tip. The family is working
with an international registry called the Caitlin
Raymond International Registry [ www.crir.org ] who will be collecting the
samples. All details are available at: http://www.savesavita.org/
