Guidelines for sending Community Events Announcement

Our website is kept up-to-date with regional community events of interest. Thank you for sending these items. Electronic newsletter is published bi-weekly to announce IANH events as well as important news items. We also publish community events as an announcement if space is available. Additionally, titles of all community events are listed in the newsletter and flyers are hyperlinked appropriately.

Recently, we have been experiencing significant increase in the number requests for announcement. It is difficult to process incomplete Email messages, requests that are not properly composed, and those arriving late. I request you send a brief description of all announcements at least seven days in advance of the publishing date. Some examples of community announcements are: cultural events, charity fundraiser, bone marrow drive, public service activity, religious functions, educational activity, and obituary. Please limit the text to fifty words or less and submit as an Email attachment (preferably in Microsoft Word document) addressed to Karthi Chandra (webmaster@ianh.org ). We will not accept requests sent through Email message body. IANH Communication Policy is posted on our website: http://ianh.org/policy.php

Thank you for your cooperation

Looking for your inputs on Community Issues

The 2008 NH Primary is fast approaching. Some of us who are registered to vote will soon be electing the leader of the free world. It is important for the candidates seeking public office not to ignore the issues that are important to our community. If we sit tight, our issues will be left behind.

IANH sends questionnaire to candidates seeking various offices containing issues in various segments of our community. Once these issues are defined, we can identify action items to raise the awareness of our politicians and others and create a focus on them. IANH and Indian American Forum for Political Education (IAFPE) will be working on consolidating community issues at national and local levels. We request you to submit a brief description of issues you think are important for us to address. Please submit them via Email to Tej Dhakar(secretary@ianh.org) by 31 August 2007.

Thank you for your participation
