Surplus Audio Equipment for Sale

IANH recently upgraded the system with Bose audio equipment and Behringer Mixer. As a result, the following surplus equipment is offered to our members for purchase:

The equipment will be sold to the maximum bid received by the closing date. In case of a tie, the bidders will be asked to resubmit their quotation in order to resolve tie. Appointment of Usha Dwaraknath as the Cultural Committee Chair

The Executive committee meeting via teleconference was held on Sunday April 29, 2007 at 7:30 PM to consider nominations for the post of Cultural Committee Chair vacated by Sowmya Gopal who will be relocating to North Carolina.

The Committee unanimously nominated Usha Dwarakanath as the Cultural Committee chair to fill the vacancy in accordance with Article V, Section 4 of IANH Bylaws. Usha has worked as a volunteer in Education and Cultural activities. Please join me in welcoming Usha to her new position. Usha can be contacted at cultural@ianh.org.

Best Wishes to Sowmya, Srinivas, and Asish

Sowmya Gopal, Srinivas Andhavarapu, and Asish Andhavarapu will be moving to North Carolina next month. Sowmya planned and managed the Diwali 2006 as Cultural Committee Chair. Srnivas served as the member of the Executive committee. Srinivas also helped us with the Education Bee serving as the Technical Coordinator for Math Bee. Asish is well known in the youth group. He undertook the task of communicating and organizing the youth group meetings. We will miss them and wish them well.

We need volunteers to help out at this event-- ( MCs, Registration Managers, Stage Managers, Event Managers, Audience Managers, Audio Equipment Managers etc.,)-- Please email cultural@ianh.org, stating your area of preference.

Call for Participation in the Spring Festival, 2007
 
The Annual Spring Festival will be held at the Nashua High North School Auditorium on Saturday May 19, 2007. View Flyer

For this event, we would like to invite participation by adults and children. Participants are allowed two stage appearances only--a solo and a group (two or more participants can form a group) OR two group performances.
General admission is $ 5 for all members including participants and $ 10 for non members.
Please send in the item details/participant names/music for the dances etc by May 4th, 2007.
No request will be entertained after that. Music may be sent on a Cassette, CD or as MP3 files. Please send in your request to cultural@ianh.org and mail the music in a CD to the Membership Chair Vandana Dhakar at the address given below.

Sponsorship Opportunities at the 2007 IANH Spring Festival Saturday May 19, 2007 at Nashua High School North

Spring Festival is the second biggest cultural event for IANH next only to the Diwali Festival. This event gives a chance to the IANH member families to display their cultural talents. Last year, 400 plus people attended the Spring Festival.

On this occasion, we have a few sponsorships available on a first-come-served basis. As a sponsor, you will be recognized at the festival through poster display and stage announcements. You will also receive four free tickets to the festival.

Friday May 4, Center for International Business in the Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College, Hanover NH presents Tuck India Business Conference. This is a free event but please register to attend. View brochure and visit the website for more information

Saturday May 5th, 2007 AMU Alumni association presents an evening of music featuring Khalid Mahmood son of the legendary Talat Mahmood at India Center of Worcester between 5 and 7 p.m. View flyer and visit the AMU website for more information.  

Sunday May 6 from 9:45 -11:30am . The Nashua branch of Shishu Bharati School will be holding an Open House/Orientation at Nashua High School South.
Breakfast will be served. This event is for all who are interested in enrolling their children in the school for 2007-08 and/or volunteer opportunities. You are invited to attend with friends and family. Please e-mail us at info-nashua@shishubharati.info to let us know how many in your party will be attending and/or for more information.

Boogie Woogie Dance Competition 2007 Sunday May 27, 2007

Boogie Woogie was the first dance show format to hit Indian Television. It has been entertaining audiences over the past 10 years. Hosted by the popular Film and Television personalities Naved and Ravi, the highlight of the show is Javed Jaffery who is the permanent celebrity judge. Boogie Woogie is the ideal platform to showcase & launch new talent across the cross section of people from all backgrounds, age groups, genders and cities .
