Dr. Walter Lima

It is with sadness we inform you that Dr. Walter Lima passed away on Wednesday, May 30th. Dr. Lima was the founder member of the India Association of New Hampshire. He was a resident of the Arbors Assisted Care Facility in Bedford since 2001.
A wake will be held on Monday, June 4th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Lambert's funeral home, 1799 Elm Street. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday June 5th at 10:00 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Road, Bedford. People may gather at Lambert's funeral home at 9:00 to be part of the funeral procession or may proceed directly to the Church. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester. A luncheon will be held immediately following at the Puritan/Backroom Restaurant, 245 Hooksett Road, Manchester.

If you plan to attend the funeral luncheon, please RSVP to Anu Mullikin amullikin@devinemillimet.com by Monday (June 4) morning and indicate whether a vegetarian meal is required

IANH Spring Festival May 19, 2007 at Nashua High School North, Nashua NH

The Spring Festival at IANH is dedicated to the association’s youth members. Over four hundred and fifty audience occupied the Nashua High School North auditorium to watch some of the best cultural performances. Dr. Ravi Sakhuja, President of the Indian American Forum for Political Education (IAFPE) stressed the need for involvement of youth in the community besides carrying out duties at school. He also praised IANH for providing a forum through various community service activities.

Dr. Sakuja presided over the award ceremony when trophies for the winners at the Education Bee were awarded. Additionally, the association awarded certificates to thirty three youth volunteers who participated in the association’s community service activities while keeping up with their academic duties. Saturday June 2, 2007 Youth Group Meeting

Youth Group Meeting is scheduled between 12 and 2 p.m. at the Nashua Kumon Center. College Freshman Raj Pattanam and Deepa Krishnaswamy will be talking to the youth group members .They can answer questions about high school requirements/college admissions/prerequisites and other information. Parents are also invited.

Call for Participation in the Cultural Event at Goffstown Nursing Home

IANH will be organizing a cultural event at Goffstown Nursing Home on Sunday June 10th between 1:30 and 3:00 p.m. This is organized every year to entertain the Senior citizens at the Nursing Home. We would like to invite participation from children (strictly children), restricted to a group size of three or less. This is due to limited stage area. Please contact Usha by Wednesday, June 6th if your children are interested in participating.

Volunteers needed for Lunch Service

A lunch service is scheduled for Sunday June 17 at the Nashua Soup Kitchen. As usual we have two shifts; lunch preparation and lunch service. Lunch preparation will start at 8:30 AM and the Lunch Service team will takeover at 11:30 AM. Please contact Prithvi Kumar or Barinder Ahluwalia with your preference. IANH is a part of Nashua Soup Kitchen’s ‘Champions in Action’ team.

Education Bee National Finalist Update

All the scores have been uploaded. The national cutoffs have been decided and finalized. Please see link below where the names of all finalists will be published shortly. The criteria for the cutoffs have also been shared there. The link will be sent to parents in a separate email once the names are published on the web.

Boogie Woogie Dance Competition 2007 Finals

Boogie Woogie was the first dance show format to hit Indian Television. It has been entertaining audiences over the past 10 years. Hosted by the popular Film and Television personalities Naved and Ravi, the highlight of the show is Javed Jaffery who is the permanent celebrity judge.
