DOORS OPEN AT 3:30 p.m.  PROGRAM STARTS AT 4 p.m.

Program Highlights : Dances and Songs by IANH ,  Music Performance by 'Yadeein'  featuring Bollywood melodies led by Harish Panchal and troupe !!

General Admission: $ 10 per person including participants. Children under 5 free.

2007 NH Regional Education Bee Announcement 

The NH regional contests will be held in NH Community Technical College, Manchester NH on Saturday March 24 and Saturday March 31.  Essay Writing, Geography, and Math Bee are scheduled for March 24.  Spelling and Vocabulary Bee will be held on March 31.  North South Foundation website will be open for registration on 1 January 2007.  Register early and get a head start. Please view the flyer for Education bees.

The 2007 Technical team will be chaired by Dr. Tej Dhakar and Thilak Radakrishnan will be the NH Regional Coordinator.  We will update contest schedule when available.  Please visit www.nothsouth.org for eligibility requirements and registration.

Community Events 

Tuesday, February 13, 7 p.m. at Dion Center Board Room, River College Nashua. Rivier Humanities Series Examines India as a Global Power

Don Johnson, professor emeritus at New York University, will present "Modern India, South Asia, and the U.S. Today" as part of the Rivier College Humanities Series.  Johnson will address the burgeoning Indian economy, as well as India's growth as a regional and global power. He will also address India's complicated relationship with Pakistan.

Dr. Martin Menke, Director of the Humanities Series at Rivier, says, "Johnson will explain why India's IT industry is booming, and why it's relevant to us. It's a country we should be paying attention to." The program is free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.rivier.edu/news.

Invitation to Contribute to India New England News :

INDIA New England News, is coming out with their annual Weddings Supplement in March, and is looking for submissions for publication in this special issue.   Their Web site is at www.indianewengland.com.  Some of the features being planned are:

  • Whacky Wedding stories: Please share your interesting wedding stories with our readers. Did the dog get your shoes when they were hid by your sister-in-law? Did the horse bolt during the baarat? Incidents can be simple, complicated, funny, or just plain weird. Please send submissions, under 600 words, to meera@indianewengland.com. The submissions may be edited for clarity.

  • Proposal stories: India New England news are looking for stories about how you were hitched. How was the proposal made -- on the beach, at dinner, or on the couch while watching TV? Please send 300-400 word submissions to meera@indianewengland.com. Submissions need not be the most romantic, and may be edited for clarity.
