Fund Raiser 2007 - Request for Participation

IANH will be organizing a fund raiser event during the second week of February - early March time frame.

  • Prepare a stage worthy high caliber solo/group item
  • Watch out for the formal call for participation, venue and dates
  • The event is open to all performers. Tickets will be $10 per person
  • IANH cultural committee will make the final decision in the selection process
  • Please contact the Cultural committee by email for further information.

Math workshops scheduled for January 

IANH and North-South Foundation will be hosting the Math Workshop on Saturday January 20 (Snow date: Sunday 21). Classes will be taught by professionals who have volunteered their time. Classes for Math Levels 1, 2, and 3 are scheduled to prepare for the upcoming Math bee. Please visit www.northsouth.org for detailed descriptions on various Math Bee levels. 2007 NH Regional Education Bee Announcement 

The NH regional contests will be held in NH Community Technical College, Manchester NH on Saturday March 24 and Saturday March 31.  Essay Writing, Geography, and Math Bee are scheduled for March 24.  Spelling and Vocabulary Bee will be held on March 31.  North South Foundation website will be open for registration on 1 January 2007.  Register early and get a head start. Please view the flyer for Education bees.

The 2007 Technical team will be chaired by Dr. Tej Dhakar and Thilak Radakrishnan will be the NH Regional Coordinator.  We will update contest schedule when available.  Please visit www.nothsouth.org for eligibility requirements and registration.

Contributions Invited to Samaj Patra

The winter edition of Samaj Patra would be published in January, 2007. This edition is timed for distribution to IANH members prior to the IANH Fundraiser in February 2007 and the Education Bee in March 2007. Samaj Patra is the official newsletter of the India Association of New Hampshire. It is published four times a year and each issue is mailed to over 250 member families.  

We are inviting your contributions to the winter edition of Samaj Patra in any of the following categories. Please email your contributions to the Associate Editor Manish Manchanda at Manish_ianh@yahoo.com with a copy to the Editor secretary@ianh.org by January 10, 2007:

  • Member News (accomplishments, family events, graduations, scholarships, awards, promotions, etc.)
  • Members Corner (stories, poems, articles, etc.)
  • Letters to the Editor (suggestions, ideas, opinions, feedback, etc.)
  • Contributed Items (interesting information from other sources)

Note: Contributed Items will be published if space is available.

A limited number of advertisements are available in the upcoming winter 2007 edition of Samaj Patra. If you would like to advertise in the Samaj Patra, please email your advertisement to Tej Dhakar, Secretary secretary@ianh.org by January 10, 2007. The current advertisement rates are given below:

  • Full Page Ad (9"x7" or 7"x 9"): $120 per issue, $384 for four issues
  • Half Page Ad (height 4"x width 7"): $70 per issue, $224 for four issues
  • Quarter Page Ad (height 4" x width 3"): $40 per issue, $128 for four issues
  • Business card (height 2" x width 3"): $25 per issue, $80 for four issues.

Looking for Volunteers to help serve lunch at Manchester New Horizons Soup Kitchen January 27, 2007

IANH now serves over six hundred meals a year and we are proud to be a member of the Nashua Soup Kitchen’s “Champions in Action” team

 We are looking for volunteers to help us with cooking and serving meal.  The cooking team will start at 8:30 AM, and the service team will take over at 11:00 AM. Please contact Prithvi Kumar (president@ianh.org) or Barinder Ahluwalia (publicservice@ianh.org) if you are interested in volunteering.  We will send you instructions upon hearing from you.

Lunch Service at the Nashua Soup kitchen and homeless shelter 

The IANH management was thrilled to see twenty one volunteers signed up for the lunch service on December 17 at the Nashua Soup Kitchen. Additionally there were twelve more from the Baptist Church in Salem. Every one was assigned a task. A group of volunteers helped to clean up the Soup Kitchen shelves and arranged all the donated items in order. View Event Information and Event pictures as animated slide show

Visit to Nashua Children’s Home - Angel Tree Gift program

Members of the IANH youth group and the Westford Cub Scouts visited the Nashua Children’s Home on Sunday December 17 when they delivered the Christmas gifts to the children.  IANH adopted six children who reside in the Nashua Children’s Home as a part of our Angel Tree Christmas Gift program.  IANH also adopted three families from the Salvation Army.  Little Ravi and Vinayak Graves pitched in helping with the gift wrapping.
