As part of the Public service ongoing program we had a short but beautiful entertaining program at Arbors of Bedford (assisted nursing home) on April 22, 2007

Education Bees 2007 were held on March 24 and March 31 at the New Hamsphire Technical College in Manchester. View event details, picture galleries and winner list.

 
 

Contributions Invited to Samaj Patra

The spring edition of Samaj Patra would be published in the beginning of May, 2007. This edition is timed for distribution to IANH members prior to the IANH Spring 2007 festival. Samaj Patra is the official newsletter of the India Association of New Hampshire. It is published four times a year and each issue is mailed to about 300 member families.

We are inviting your contributions to the spring edition of Samaj Patra in any of the following categories. Please email your contributions to the Associate Editor Manish Manchanda at Manish_ianh@yahoo.com with a copy to the Editor Dr. Tej Dhakar at dhakar@comcast.net by Saturday, April 28, 2007.

Member News (accomplishments, family events, graduations, scholarships, awards, promotions, child births, etc.)
Members Corner (stories, poems, articles, etc. written by the members)
Letters to the Editor (suggestions, ideas, opinions, feedback, etc.)
Contributed Items (interesting information from other sources)

Advertisement Opportunities in Samaj Patra

A limited number of advertisements are available in the upcoming fall edition of Samaj Patra. If you would like to advertise in the Samaj Patra, please email your advertisement to Dr. Tej Dhakar, Secretary secretary@ianh.org by April 27, 2007. The current advertisement rates are given below:

Business card (height 2" x width 3"): $25 per issue, $80 for four issues.
Quarter Page Ad (height 4" x width 3"): $40 per issue, $128 for four issues
Half Page Ad (height 4"x width 7"): $70 per issue, $224 for four issues
Full Page Ad (9"x7" or 7"x 9"): $120 per issue, $384 for four issues

We need volunteers to help out at this event-- ( MCs, Registration Managers, Stage Managers, Event Managers, Audience Managers, Audio Equipment Managers etc.,)-- Please email cultural@ianh.org, stating your area of preference.

Call for Participation in the Spring Festival, 2007
 
The Annual Spring Festival will be held at the Nashua High North School Auditorium on Saturday May 19, 2007. View Flyer

For this event, we would like to invite participation by adults and children. Participants are allowed two stage appearances only--a solo and a group (two or more participants can form a group) OR two group performances.
General admission is $ 5 for all members including participants and $ 10 for non members.
Please send in the item details/participant names/music for the dances etc by May 4th, 2007.
No request will be entertained after that. Music may be sent on a Cassette, CD or as MP3 files. Please send in your request to cultural@ianh.org and mail the music in a CD to the Membership Chair Vandana Dhakar at the address given below.

Sponsorship Opportunities at the 2007 IANH Spring Festival Saturday May 19, 2007 at Nashua High School North

Spring Festival is the second biggest cultural event for IANH next only to the Diwali Festival. This event gives a chance to the IANH member families to display their cultural talents. Last year, 400 plus people attended the Spring Festival.

On this occasion, we have a few sponsorships available on a first-come-served basis. As a sponsor, you will be recognized at the festival through poster display and stage announcements. You will also receive four free tickets to the festival.

Your sponsorship will help us cover some of the cost of organizing the Spring Festival and will be greatly appreciated. If you would like to sponsor any of the following, please contact Tej Dhakar secretary@ianh.org as soon as possible:

Community Events/Announcements

Friday May 4, Center for International Business in the Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College, Hanover NH presents Tuck India Business Conference. This is a free event but please register to attend. View brochure and visit the website for more information

Saturday May 5th, 2007 AMU Alumni association presents an evening of music featuring Khalid Mahmood son of the legendary Talat Mahmood at India Center of Worcester between 5 and 7 p.m. View flyer and visit the AMU website for more information.  

Sunday May 6 from 9:45 -11:30am . The Nashua branch of Shishu Bharati School will be holding an Open House/Orientation at Nashua High School South.
Breakfast will be served. This event is for all who are interested in enrolling their children in the school for 2007-08 and/or volunteer opportunities. You are invited to attend with friends and family. Please e-mail us at info-nashua@shishubharati.info to let us know how many in your party will be attending and/or for more information.
