The India Association Youth Group had the wonderful opportunity of participating in a workshop on 'Diversity" which was moderated by an expert panel of educators Mr. Woullard Lett, Ms. Veronica Kamerman, Ms. Rose Palis and Mrs Vanita Shastri. They were all from different ethnic backgrounds and shared their wisdom with the IANH Youth. The three hour workshop ended with a Q and A session. The speakers began by talking about their first experiences as immigrants. They all arrived in the US under different circumstances ranging from refugee to student. The kids were then encouraged to share at least one grievance with the group. The speakers engaged every single youth member present in the discussions. Some parents also joined the debate. Some of the kids went home and told their parents that they missed a "golden opportunity". They are better equipped to deal with whatever challenges lie ahead. Pratheek Kalyanapu the youth group president gave the vote of thanks at the end of the session.

We are extremely grateful to the speakers who despite busy schedules gladly agreed to do this for IANH.
