India Association of New Hampshire Nach Night, a dance party for all ages organized by the India Association of NH (IANH)Youth Group, took place on Saturday, April 11th, from 7 – 10 PM at Nashua High School North. It doubled as a fund-raising event and took a lot of planning and dedication from the members to plan everything from decorations to food in under a month with only two meetings. Four groups were created to split the tasks: Finance, Publicity, Decoration, Snacks, and Entertainment. Meghna Chandra, Amritha Mangalat, Lekha Nair, and Rohan Vaswani, spent many hours working on the flyer and tickets, decorations, banner and publicity, and the financial aspect of the event. Anirudh Dwarakanath along with his friend Tony Travaligni were the DJs of the night and created some great remixes that mixed Bollywood and American songs. The music ranged from Nach Baliye to the Macarena and Poker Face. They did a great job managing the music and sound system.

The night's festivities included a dance-off and gift certificates for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. The grand sponsor was the Mexican restaurant in Nashua, La Hacienda Del Rio. Other sponsors who contributed generously were India Palace in Nashua and Manchester, Food and Fashion of India, Nandita Agarwal, Global Flavors, Gurnaam Catering, Mehmaan Restaurant, Mrs. Ina and Mr. Himanshu Desai, and Mrs. Vandana and Dr. Tej Dhakar. None of this could have happened without the timely help of Chetan Chaudhari who recruited the sponsors for the event. The Youth Group is also grateful to all the parents who came to help manage the event. More than 200 people, both Indian and American, attended this spectacular event of Indian culture. About $1,700 was raised to benefit the Bhutanese refugees Empowerment Program, and the Manchester and Nashua Soup Kitchens.

Every member of the Youth Group helped make the event a success. In the words of Prithvi Kumar, President of IANH: "The youth members raised more money than their adult counterparts in similar fund raising activities. Their team work is commendable."
