Preparations for the Dinner service at the Nashua Soup kitchen began on Friday, May 22 when Barinder hosted a "Veggie Preparations" party at her home.
Vanadna, Dimple Mehra, Aprajitha Manchanda, Geeta Prabhakar, Padma, Vandana's mother, and Seema Maazu, the members of the "Veggie Team" prepared and bagged all veggies for making lasagna. The Dinner preparation team assembled at 10:30 AM sharp at the Nashua Soup Kitchen. Kala, Vandana, Usha Dasari, Barinder, and Raj Jain prepared the lasagna. We made eight trays that served about 85 guests plus all volunteers. Then they were joined by Ninder, Gurmeet, Lalba, and Gargi Das who prepared the table and served the guests.
We also gave the sheets donated by Best Western, Chelmsford to the shelter. Many families showed up to collect food items. To sum it up, it was lots of fun and good work.
