Dinner Service at Nashua Soup Kitchen, July 16, 2006

IANH volunteers prepared land served lunch at the Nashua Soup Kitchen

Nashua 16 July 2006

The team consisting of fourteen volunteers from the India Asociation of New Hampshire (IANH) prepared and served hot lunch at the Nashua Soup Kitchen on Sunday 16 July.  This visit was scheduled at the request of the soup kitchen staff to keep the food pantry open on Sundays.  While most of us enjoyed a beautiful day outdoors, these volunteers spent their time in serving a meal to the needy.  The group prepared veggie ziti, salad, and desert.  This event also marked the first time the India Association volunteers prepared healthy choice vegetarian meal.

The cooking team of eight volunteers prepared the meal.  They received valuable help from Anjana and Amritha Mangalat youth members of the association.  The cooking team volunteers prepared the meal starting at 8:30 AM.  The service team took over around 11:00 AM and served the meal to over fifty guests at noon.  IANH plans to host this service more frequently starting this summer.
