On January 28, 2006 volunteers of the Public Service group organized a cookout at the New Horizon homeless shelter in Manchester. The group cooked and served dinner at the shelter. The morning team prepared and served non-vegetarian ziti, vegetarian lentil soup, garlic bread, fruit salad, and desert for over 120 guests. Drs. Padma Mathur and her family sponsored the whole dinner in honor of their parents. All who participated felt a heart warming satisfaction by sharing. Everyone enjoyed the dinner. We also collected some used warm clothing which was given to the shelter for distribution.
We express our thanks to Drs. Padma Mathur and her family for sponsoring the dinner. Additionally, we would like to thank Ravi Vyapuri, Lav and Drs. Rajni Aneja, Vandana Dhakar, Sukanya Tadepalli, Denise Riccardi and Barinder Ahluwalia for cooking dinner and Jasmine Pandit, Maureen Byrnes, Padma Parakala, Balaji Sundram, Prasad Dabbi, Ravi Nath, and Drs. Padma Mathur for for serving dinner. If anyone would like to sponsor or donate money to the cause, Please contact any executive member of the IANH or send an e-mail to PublicService@Ianh.org for more information. Let us help our community where we live in need.
