The Public service
Committee collected and donated 31 new Blankets to the
New Horizons Homeless Shelter on 16 February 04. The blankets were
delivered to the shelter by Vandana Dhakar and Padma Mathur.
Please
read the letter of thanks received from New Horizons for our donation.
The blankets were
purchased from part of the donations received so far, in response to our appeal
to the membership.
We sincerely thank
the following donors who responded.

Barinder Ahluwalia, Homai Khanna, Karthi Chandra, Padma Mathur, Shanti
Nair, Uma Reddy, Vani Thilagar, Shoba Menon and Vandana Dhakar for
donating a total of 240 dollars.
We are in the process
of purchasing other much needed blankets and pillows, with the remaining
donations.
The Shelter can use
more blankets as they receive anywhere between 80-100 people who seek shelter
during the bitter cold nights. We urge our members to respond kindly to the
needs of the less fortunate members of our society.
