The India Association of New Hampshire organized its annual picnic this year on Saturday Aug 20, at the Greenfield State Park in Greenfield N.H.
Approximately 60 people attended the event and each family brought in a food item. The picnickers busied themselves with a variety of games and entertainment, such as cricket, badminton and Antakshari besides enjoying a variety of dishes.
The event also doubled as a general body meeting. Prithvi Kumar, President of the association, welcomed all the people and dwelt on the general scope of the association’s activities. He then asked the committee members of the association to give details about the areas under their respective charges. Tej Dhakar, Secretary, read out the changes to the bylaws of the association at the end of this meeting. A vote was sought for accepting these amendments.
The day was marked by the celebration of the birthday of one-year old Nikhil, son of Mr. Kaviraj Gopichandran of Nashua.
This year’s picnic saw residents of various towns of New Hampshire – Nashua, Bedford, Merrimack, Manchester, Exeter – attending. The event provided a fun-filled opportunity to mingle and renew contacts.
