NH BoogieWoogie-2010 Dance Competition

India Association of New Hampshire For the the first time in New Hampshire IANH & Milan Cultural Association present Sony TV Boogie Woogie Dance Competition

  • Where: Nashua High North, 10 Chuck Druding Drive
  • When: Saturday March 13th
  • Time: 4:00 to 7:00 PM
  • Admission: $10 person, Children under 5 free
  • The competition will be followed by music and dance performances by invited artists that include:

  • Anuradha Palakurthi Classical and contemporary music
  • Amulya Deepak Evolution of Bollywood dance
  • Lakshmi Manasa Dancing on roller skates
  • Delicious Indian snacks and dinner will be available for purchase. Don't miss the Bollywood Music and Dance Extravaganza.

    We invite participants for solo dance to Bollywood music. There will be two categories- Junior and Senior. Each participant will perform for three minutes. Participants are required to submit THREE songs in CD. However, they are required to prepare only the first song for the competition. The other two songs will be used for finals. Participants who are selected for the final rounds will perform live on SONY TV's BOOGIE WOOGIE.

    Diwali 2009 Celebrations

    Dear Members and other patrons of IANH,

    It's that time of the year again, when we will get together for a meeting of the minds, exihibit our kids' talents and socialize. With your co-operation we can have yet another great Diwali function on 10th of October 2009. Please read the flyer IANH DIWALI FLYER

    As far as registering to participate is concerned, please be informed that you could input your registration from the 1st of September until the 13th of September through our online registration page. Registrations after the dead line, or sent via direct email will not be accepted. Please be sure to enter as much detail as possible on the online page. Try to compress your music files before uploading them. In case you are unable to upload after trying, you could mail the CDs by September 15th to this address -Padmavathy Dabbi, 34 Hitching Post Ln, Bedford, NH.  CD received after the 15th will not be accepted and the event registration will stand cancelled. So, be sure to input your registration within the first week of September, if you do happen to have a music file to upload. It is your organization, so please adhere to the rules and make this work for us.

     Admission and Participation fee : General Admission: $10 (IANH members: $5); Children under 5 free.

    Participation Fee: $10 (IANH members: $5)

    If any of the participants are non-members, please be sure to mail the participation fee cheques ahead of time to Vandana Dhakar at 20 Chad Road, Manchester, NH. Also if you are a member and your membership is over due, please be sure to make it current by sending a cheque payable to IANH to Vandana at the following address: Vandana Dhakar, Memebership Secretary, 20 Chad Road, Manchester, NH 03104.

    Please use the following guidelines for your entries.

    1. Registrations will be accepted for group items only. Each participant can take part in only one group item. Solo items for the Diwali festival can be performed only upon invitation by the IANH cultural committee.
    2. The minimum age of participants is 5 years.
    3. IANH encourages a variety of programs for this event. An item can be up to 7 min long. Exceptions will be considered depending on the number of participants and the nature of the item (A skit or dance drama may need more time)
    4. IANH website will be set up for registering entries. The site will be open for registration on September 1st. Website will be closed for registration on September 13th, 2009. Please send in details about the program with the name of the item, short description (about the dance/music or the author and story of skit/drama), approximate duration, teacher/choreographer's/ Director's name & telephone number, participants' names and their ages. Please send all information about your program no later than the cutoff date of September 13th. Unfortunately, no request will be entertained after that date. It is important that you provide all the details about your item accurately without typos.
    5. Please upload only good quality music files in MP3 format when registering
    6. The IANH cultural committee will select all entries through a careful review process and the decision of the Cultural committee is final in all matters
    7. The cultural committee will inform registrants if their entry is in the final list by September 20th, and give an approximate time slot for each selected item by September 30th.Requests to move the sequence of items will not be entertained
    8. Volunteering for IANH events is a noble act. Youth volunteers and parents, please indicate in the registration if you would be willing to volunteer. You could also send in independent entries for just volunteering, by mentioning so, in one of the 'notes' fields.
    9. Food will be available for purchase from vendors.
